When I initially decided to wear the crewneck sweater with this animal print skirt, my intention was not to add a belt. I just wanted a simple Sunday look. After looking in the mirror, the outfit looked like it needed an extra oomph so I decided to add a belt. I chose this black leather and animal print version which elevated the look from mere simple and predictable to edgy.
The key things I considered while mixing the two animal print items – the skirt and the belt – were color and size. I made sure black was well represented since it is the only common color between the items. I do not want the outfit overwhelmed so I chose to wear a thin belt which was small enough to cover just the lower part of the waist band of the skirt. All the outfit needed was a sprinkle of another animal print feature.
