When you search the internet, you will find many suggestions on so many ways you could wear plaid or should I say checkered. Everyone’s default method of wearing plaid is to pair it with a solid color. The most interesting and edgy I have seen is the combination of plaid and animal print with both pieces having not a single color in common. But the latter simply pushes the boundary.

Plaid is a must-have print no matter the weather. A must-have print is automatically a must-have wardrobe piece. The fabric of your plaid item is what determines whether it is fall or summer worthy.

For this look, it was not planned. I did not feel like pairing the Zara trouser with a solid color shirt but preferred one with the same pattern and just one different color. So I pulled this old Banana Republic shirt from my closet. I was not 100% sure if it would work but the dimensions of the checks and lines on both pieces which seems equally the same pulled the look together.

With the help of this 3.1 Philip Lim neck piece which is really a scarf, the ladylike take on this menswear fabric is effortless.
