After getting dressed for work one beautiful morning, I looked in the mirror and my outfit felt blah. I added the belt thinking it was my waist that needed some adjustment but I was not satisfied. I looked down at my shoes and I thought, “why not add a little personality to your lace-less oxfords”. Tie your usual bow but make it loud using a 3″ grosgrain ribbon.
I only have satin ribbons at home at the time. To transform my lace-less oxfords, I would have to stop by at Walmart on my way to work. When I arrived at Walmart, I could not find the grosgrain ribbon size I wanted. I had to improvise. My eyes caught a roll of 6″ black mesh ribbon which turned out to be the perfect choice anyway. I grabbed the roll and off to work I went.
A double layer of the 6″ mesh ribbon was used to create each shoe lace. The mesh ribbon is preferred to the grosgrain because it created a softer but more dramatic bow.
In other words,
“No shoe lace, no problem. Grab a deco mesh ribbon and turn your lace-less shoes into statement making shoes.”
