“I like the way corduroys feel. I like the sort of jean aspect of corduroys, but also the texture of them. They probably remind me of my childhood, too, I think. I wore cords, and my dad had a corduroy jacket.” – Noah Baumbach
“My mom also wore corduroy pants”. – me

Wore this corduroy and denim outfit while visiting Las Vegas in January for a dear friend’s 40th birthday party. I believe I received a call that day while waiting for the rest of the ladies to finish getting ready that I was going to be furloughed. Yes, my supervisor called to tell me not to return to work on Monday. I was to stay home and not expect a paycheck. Couldn’t have called me at the worst time, I was in Las Vegas for crying out loud. The not-so-expected news came as a surprise, especially since I had always been covered by a type of ‘user fee’ that had always paid my salary. Let’s say I was one of the privileged ones. When the call came in, I was already feeling chilled in this wide-leg corduroy overall (here) and denim shirt (here) and of course, I had zero-worries.
Anyway, my friends and I went visiting The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian and got on the World’s tallest observation wheel, the High Roller. Even though my supervisor called me back an hour later to inform me to ignore the phone call and report to work the following Monday, but that news kept my dollar bills in my wallet.
It was definitely a chilled day and what better way to express my fashionably chilled mood if not in this cutely paired casuals.
