Is it Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30? Or Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizer? A combination of both? I honestly cannot tell you which one it is. All I know is for some reason, my oily skin turned normal overnight.

Until two weeks ago, the following products made my beauty regimen possible: Neutrogena Pads, Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, Keihl’s ‘Ultra Facial’ Oil-Free Cleanser, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, Organic Shea Butter and Keihl’s ‘Ultra Facial’ Moisturizer. With the use of all these products and a few in the past, one thing had stayed consistent, my oily skin. No matter what I use, my face stayed glossy years after years. I actually liked it that way. Let’s face it, an oily skin has its benefits. Benefits such as the dewy and youthful glow others seems to have noticed.

But where is that oil now? I keep asking myself, “what happened?” When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is look in the mirror to see if my face got hydrated overnight. I am usually happy if the reflected image is a plump oval-shaped face with a luminous skin. The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum would provide this result. But for some reason I can no longer swear by it and I have no idea if Keihl’s ‘Ultra Facial’ Moisturizer works for me. So I decided it was time for a change. Change to what? I had no idea.

I decided to give the product that have had great reviews from Instyle and Allure magazines a try. The Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30. Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizer was just a trial thought.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 promises to even skin tone, texture, dullness, blotchiness and brown spots. It is expected to reflect light for luminous skin and protect the skin from sun damage. Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizer is packed with hydration power that promises to plump skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and exfoliates. Both sounds yummy, right!

Well, I can attest to the fact that the Aveeno moisturizer does exactly what it promises. The Olay Regenerist does not plump my skin as I would want it to but when I wake up in the morning, my skin is visibly brighter, tight and firm. The glow I now have with or without make-up is really amazing!

But where is my oil? Do I miss it? Not really! I think I am just fine without it. I doubt it is completely gone but I am sure one or two of the ingredients in the Aveeno or Olay moisturizer reduced its production.  Both products have ingredients such as dimethicone, glycolic acid and niacinamide which are effective oil control agents.

I just pray I don’t look scaly these coming winter months. That will be catastrophic.
