OMG! I am so not in a good mood right now. I think I need to find someone who will take major pleasure in uploading my pictures. I have spent more than two hours uploading these unedited images which in my opinion are not bad since they were taken by an iPad camera. LMBO! Don’t judge me. I do not own a camera but I promise to invest in one as soon as I am able to. For now, this blog is just a medium for me to have fun and communicate fashionably with you all. Have fun? For someone like me that adores perfection, trying to figure something out for more than 15 minutes as a novice in whatever subject area I find myself irks my nerves. With my WordPress for Dummies and Blogging for Dummies books (thanks to Kristin for recommending), phone calls to Elizabeth, my sister and Tappi, a good friend, I can take a breather from stress. Eventually, I am going to need a savvy Web professional to help take a load off. Does anyone want the job? I have no one to give me a small loan of $1M so it will be a volunteer effort…for now. LOL!
To the OOTD
This look is a mixture of old and new. The jacket was a suit set that was gifted to me about 8 years ago. The church was going to have a program and the Pastor’s wife decided to dress all 15 women in the choir in a three-piece Tahari suit. With her personal funds. I guess I need to add that for wandering minds. The pieces: plaid jacket, baby blue shell, and black crêpe pant. After the program, I really had no use for it because I felt it made me look older than I was and definitely not my style. So the set hung in my closet for a few years before I finally decided to donate it to Salvation Army. I couldn’t part with the jacket because I knew I could do something with it. The jacket hung unworn for about 6 good years before I was able to find a use for it this past Sunday. What a good buy? Such a chic wool jacket!
The new item is the SheIn Dress. The only problem I have with this affordable piece is the placement of the pockets. The pocket pouches sits in front of the dress instead of the sides. The dress being a bit sheer does not help either. What were they thinking? Easy fix though. Since I love pockets, I will have them reworked by adding lining and maybe tulle for a little pouf, pulling the pocket pouches to the sides and attaching them to the lining.
I hope you find the look inspiring.
Tahari Jacket (old) (Macy’s, NordstromRack, Asos, Yesstyle)
Trouve Textured Sweater (old) (Forever 21, Shoptiques, Bloomingdales, Shopbop)
SheInside Dress (New)
Loiuse et Cie Oxford
I love the top and the skirt. I can see myself rocking them. I am not crazy about the color of the jacket but i will wear it as a duster over fitted jeans or nice leggings with riding boot.
It’s actually a dress and a top. I like your option too; that will look cute as well.
