I cannot believe this is my first post since the eve of Christmas. Wow! I really need to stop lazing around and step up my blogging game.
I am sure you have read somewhere on this blog that states ‘I do not fancy the cold weather.’ I sincerely do not. Funny enough, the Fall/Winter season is when I like to dress up the most. The weather affords me the opportunity to layer up and I always have fun doing that. It also allows me wear my favorite pieces: sweaters, cardigans, patterned tights and socks.
I will be working on a few more layering tips in the future so look forward to that.
Layering Tip #1
1) A crisp white oxford shirt. Make the collar and cuff or edges visible. This lays a polish foundation and gives your outfit a more relaxed look.
2) Add a vest or go for a lightweight sweater in sleek finishes.
3) An elegant cape coat or a long sleeve cardigan to streamline the whole look.
4) I added the knotted belt to my look just to add a trending piece as seen on the Fall/Winter 2015 runway.
For this post, I layered a crisp polka dot oxford shirt, a rayon polyester blend vest, an indigo fine merino wool cardigan. I added the belt for a trendy look. You do not have to wear a black skirt, play around with your colors to see if you can pair it with a different shade of bottom. An heather gray skirt will work. Cobalt blue and Oak buff (wild-card pairing) will add a pop of color.
I really don’t fancy these pictures because of the quality. The sun was just setting when we go to the park and within minutes it disappeared. I did not feel like wasting the outfit so I decided to take the pictures anyway. I promise to swap them with better ones within the next two weeks.
Thank you so much for coming on this journey with me. I really appreciate your support. Your comments and suggestions has been very inspiring so keep them coming. My struggles with blogging so far are consistency and photographs. Those two are definitely on top of my resolution for the new year.
Have a prosperous NEW YEAR!!!
