This is the perfect time to give your face all the care it needs. Due to social distancing, a lot of us now have the opportunity to spend most of our days indoors which means our faces are getting less exposed to air pollutants which are said damages skin. I had been taking care of my skin for many decades now. It’s glowy texture was not achieved overnight. As a matter of fact, my flair for skincare is what makes me wear less makeup. When I decided to start wearing my hair short/natural, I realized I would at least need to wear a foundation to give my face a look that would compliment my hair. This means I have to wear foundation at least 4 – 5 times a week. Now that I am stuck in the house and have no where important to go, not even the mall, my time to get ready for the office has been reduced by 15 – 20 minutes. I have skipped the makeup process and now totally focus on just maintaining my glow without clogging my pores with makeup.
For a radiant skin while working from home, my AM routine includes washing my face with the Earth and Skin Honey Manuka Calming Face Cleanser and Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Acne Scrub or Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser. After washing the cleanser and/or scrub off, I apply the Earth and Skin Honey Manuka Calming Face Toner followed by Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum. I let the serum sit on my face for about 1 – 2 minutes before adding Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado followed by Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream SPF 30. For an added hydration and a subtle shimmer, I mix Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow and Kiehl’s Glow Formula Skin Hydrator and apply the mixture over the moisturizer. These hydrators replaces the foundation.
Hydration is key. Just like your body, your skin needs hydration to look and feel its best. Olay Mist Energizing Ultimate Hydration Essence is used maybe ones or three times a day to keep the skin de-stressed and refreshed.
Eyewear is very essential to my daily look but limited to only lining my eyelids and penciling my eyebrows. To achieve this minimal makeup look, I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Mechanical Brow Pencil, Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner for the lower eyelids, and Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner for the upper eyelids.
For my lips, I use Kiehl’s Buttermask Intense Repair Lip Treatment.
